Gresham's U11 A Team v Norwich School U11 A Team (h)
Final Score Gresham's 3 Norwich School 10
Today the Team was very sorry to loose a wonderful player due to an injury just an hour before the start of the match. We would all like to wish Archie T a speedy recovery, get well soon Archie, you are a star.
The last match of the season bought out MOTM performances from both "The Powerhouse" Elias F and "The Stepping Wizard" Ed M on a drizzly windy day at home. Home advantage however was not enough to even the playing field and a strong Norwich School side proved too much over the course of the 40 minute match.
Gresham's did however play some attractive rugby and looked to keep the ball alive in attack. Aleksey C had his best match of the season carrying the ball confidently in attack and Theo B made break after break to terrorize the Norwich School defensive line whenever he was in possession. Captain George C and Vice Captain Evan C played their usual critical roles in attack and defence and ensured the ball kept moving forward and Archie C weighed in with his now familiar confidence in attack. For Gresham's however the two players that stole the show today were the two try scoring hero Ed M who was new to rugby at the start of the season but was unplayable today and a rampaging Elias F who was quite frankly unstoppable with the ball in hand today scoring a try himself in the wide channel and setting up both of Gresham's other trys with his determined attacking runs.
Well done to all the boys for your continued efforts this term. There has been a great deal of development taking place and it has been alot of fun to boot. The boys have remained positive with one another throughout the season and have bonded well as a Team (which is never more noticeable than when a Gresham's player scores and is immediately congratulated by all of his teammates).
A final thank you to our Parents and Grandparents for braving some quite frankly awful weather to offer positive support to the boys from the touchline. Your continued encouragement has been invaluable and is very much appreciated by the whole team.
Thank you for a very memorable season boys and never stop looking for opportunities to develop.
Mr Steed
