Boys Rugby Gresham's U11 A Team v Town Close

On a dry day, trys from Jack Ha (2), Albi P and a stunning 50 meter try from Harry Dunne was not enough to add a third win of the season.

Town close started well and moved the ball with confidence as well as making their tackles when defending. Despite Gresham's best efforts they could not quite organise their defensive pattern sufficiently to stem Town Close's attacking play and found themselves behind 4 trys to 2 at half time.

Gresham's performance considerably improved in the second half as they matched their opponents in attack and defence and competed well to regain loose ball or take advantage of opportunities to rip the ball from "prone players". Both teams registered 2 trys a piece on the scoreboard for a final result of 6-4 in favour of Town Close.

Special mention goes out to Nick K who stood in to captain the side and performed the task incredibly well as well as putting in his usual strong performance playing.

MOTM goes to Harry Dunne, who carried strongly all day running direct lines and shortening the opponents defensive line, as well as scoring an absolute cracker of a try.

Thank you to all boys from both schools who provided parents and coaches with a very entertaining and committed game of rugby. Thank you to all our parents for their positive support from the touchline and to Mr Pienaar (Director of Rugby) from the Senior School who helped coach the boys during the match.
