Match Report
Gresham's School Rifle Club vs  Cambridge University
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: Away

On Saturday, the Rifle Club travelled to Cambridge to take on the might that is Cambridge University Rifle Club. The University team will be competing in the Varsity Match in a few weeks’ time and are shooting in the Universities Championships this coming weekend. They like to use the match against the Gresham’s team as a warm up because they know it will be a very tough one to win. The Gresham’s 1st VI proved too tough for them on this occasion! Just!

The Gresham’s 1st VI, helped by some outstanding shooting by Ben Danziger, Alex Todd and Mac Woodcock, narrowly beat the Cambridge 1st VI by just four points. Alex Todd top scored in the match with 196 ex 200. The Gresham’s 2nd VI also secured victory over the Cambridge 2nd VI but by a much larger margin of 30 points. For our 2nd VI, every member of the team shot well but Fergus Robson and Theresa Horn had particularly fine performances. Gresham’s are currently leading Cambridge, 8 wins to 4, in the series.
