Match Report
Gresham's School The Mighty U14Bs vs  Framlingham College
On: Saturday, 09 Jun 2018
Venue: Away

The Mighty U14Bs lived up to their reputation, cruising to victory against a determined and well-drilled Framlingham team, who just didn't quite have it where it mattered; in the box. Our boys showed more passion, more guts and more skill. Fram batted and lost their first 3 wickets for 8 runs in a devastating opening spell of bowling by Jack Reader (whose mother again missed her son in action!) Their middle order made the score reasonably respectable (90 all out off 18 overs) but then Gresham's rolled out their deadly weapon in the form of Alex Roper. He took 3 late wickets including one superb 'caught and bowled'. In any normal match, this would have earned Ropes the man of the match award, but our very own comeback-kid, Berie Proctor put the demoralised Fram to the sword with some fine batting. He had a torrid time as WK to our pace bowlers, with lots of byes slipping through his gloves, but then when the slowies came on, he was majestic, keeping brilliantly and including one stumping, worthy of Knotty himself. He opened the Gresham's innings too and carried his bat his bat to victory with 28 excellent, careful runs, never once looking in danger. He was ably supported by Jack Barnes (15 runs) and Ben Harvey Samuel (10) on his debut in the Bs. And so the end of an excellent and unbeaten term; it will be quite some squad that takes the 'team-of-the-season' award away from the Mighty 14Bs !
