Match Report
Gresham's School Boys-U15A vs  St Joseph's College, Ipswich
On: Saturday, 12 May 2018
Venue: at Home

? Greshams having surprisingly decided to bat ?against a new ball & overcast conditions , with the match only 6 overs old we all came off for rain at 23 for 4 : A break of 25 minutes ensued :

To add to the problems, the match was then reduced from 30 to 20 overs.

So to win from here was challenging and a huge handicap:

It soon became 49 for 5 in the 10th over: Opener Dan Sheridan found an ally in Joshua Anthony (affectionately now known as "Boxer") & together they added 60 in 7 overs before "Boxer" finally succumbed as had most of the others with a cross bat shot having made 24 in only 12 deliveries : Dan Sheridan was a colossus in carrying his opening birth to 68 n.o. in only 44 deliveries , showing a maturity far beyond his years & an innings of exquisite shotmaking , with intelligent shot selection throughout :

Final Score 140 - 6 (20ovrs)

Luckily a second "new ball" appeared from nowhere, which is where Greshams strength really shone through:

The bowling figures alone show testimony to the immense talent in our Bowling line up as Louie Bragg (6 - 11 last week ) did not bat or bowl: Lewis Hart & Harry Adams, pitching it up, allowing it to swing, decimated the opposition who were routed in 8 . 4 overs for 24 for 9 innings closed (only ten boys against men) :

2 decent catches behind the stumps for George Beeson & a first ever 5 wicket haul for Harry Adams completed a very satisfying afternoon :
